Denton Record-Chronicle: Burgess to host three events on health care
August 17thU.S. Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Lewisville, will host three Congressional Health Care Caucus events in the area this week, including a presentation from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton.
The events will bring together local leaders, medical professionals and business owners to discuss the local impact of health care reform on doctors, hospitals, businesses and all constituents, according to Burgess’ office.
Wednesday’s event in Denton is titled “Side Effects of Health Reform on Business,” and will feature Mayor Mark Burroughs; Laura Stromberg, spokeswoman for the National Federation of Independent Business; Lee Spangler, vice president of Medical Economics; and Lisa Wiborg, human resources director of Peterbilt Motors Co.
The Denton hospital is at 3000 N. Interstate 35.
The series also includes “The Fate of Physician Owned Hospitals and Practices,” from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. today at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound, and “Side Effects of Health Reform on Business” from 8 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at North Hills Hospital in North Richland Hills, in the Texas Pediatric Surgery Building.
